Golden Knights General Manager David Poiles said the Vegas Golden Knight team has no chance of advancing to the Stanley Cup Playoffs in the upcoming season.
Poiles also said the Golden Knights are going to play the Tampa Bay Lightning in the third round of the playoffs if the Golden Knight is eliminated.
“We’re going to try to get them to play in the second round and the third and fourth round,” Poiles told reporters Thursday.
We have to find a way to get that to happen again.” “
They’ve played very well in the past couple of games.
We have to find a way to get that to happen again.”
Poiles is the latest GM to take aim at the Vegas team for not having a chance to make the playoffs.
Vegas lost four straight games, including three straight games in regulation, in order to drop into the bottom third of the Eastern Conference standings.
The Golden Knights have lost four of their past six games and will have to go through the Stanley Trophy playoff tournament in Nashville on Friday night.
The final game of the series will be Friday night in Nashville.
Vegas is 8-12-3 in its past 10 games.
Golden Knights captain Cody Hodgson was suspended by the league on Thursday for five games after he was caught on camera telling his teammates he wanted to “take a knee.”
“I don’t know what he was thinking.
That’s just not right,” Poile said of Hodgson.
“I think we need to be talking to him and his agent about it.
It’s been an issue.
We know how the league works.
“That’s not right. “
We’ll see what happens.””
