Golden, yellow, and pink Yukon potatoes are the best gold and yellow potatoes for making jewellery.
Here’s how to prepare a diamond ring and bracelet with Yukon gold.
1.
Prepare the potatoes, cut into small pieces, and set aside.
2.
Heat a small amount of oil in a large saucepan over medium-high heat.
3.
Add the potatoes and saute until golden brown, about 5 minutes.
4.
Remove the potatoes from the pan and set them aside.
5.
Add 1 tablespoon of flour and 1 tablespoon salt to a medium-sized bowl.
6.
Stir in the garlic and cook until fragrant, about 10 minutes.
7.
Add 3 teaspoons of ground flaxseed and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon and stir.
8.
Add a pinch of baking soda and 1/4 cup of cold water to the flour mixture.
9.
Add all the remaining ingredients except for the flour and salt to the bowl and stir well.
10.
The mixture will be soft and fluffy.
You may need to add a splash of cold milk to loosen it up. 11.
Use a spatula to fold the dough into a ball, pressing the dough down firmly.
It should be about 2 inches wide and about 3 inches long.
12.
Using a sharp knife, cut out the circles about 2-inches wide and 4-inches long.
13.
Shape the dough by rolling the dough between your palms.
Don’t overwork it.
Don,t leave any long strands of dough sticking out.
Make sure that you don’t cut the dough too wide, as it will create a chafing condition.
Make a long line with a circle on one end.
Use the end of the dough to hold the dough in place, while rolling it around the other end.
14.
Cut a large piece of dough from the centre of each circle, and lay it flat.
The dough should be roughly 2-3 inches across.
15.
Place the dough on a lightly floured surface.
Cut out a large chunk of dough and lay this over the top of the circle.
This will form a long, thin rope.
16.
Cut another piece of the same dough from one end of each rope.
Place it over the bottom of the other dough.
This piece will form the “ring.”
You may wish to cut out a small strip of dough to form the bottom half of the ring.
17.
Using your fingers, fold the ring into a small circle.
It will look something like this: 18.
Make two loops on the top and bottom of each ring.
Cut the rings in half lengthwise, so the long side is about 3/4-inch thick.
19.
Cut two rings for each side of the necklace.
Place them in a zipper pocket.
You can use a ring holder to hold them.
20.
Place a ring in the middle of each pocket and secure the clasp.
You don’t want the clasp to be too tight.
The clasp should be snug and can easily be pulled open.
21.
Place your ring on the necklace and fasten the clasp with the clasp on the ring holder.
The ring is now ready to go.
To start, line up the clasp and the ring in your mind.
22.
Place two pieces of jewelry in front of you and arrange the rings so they are aligned.
23.
Now, attach the rings to the necklace using the clasp as a guide.
24.
Place one piece of jewellery in the ring, and attach the clasp from the ring itself.
The rings are now set.
The jewellery should now be completely attached.
To finish, remove the clasp for good.
25.
If you wish to make the necklace smaller, place a small piece of gold on the inside of each necklace.
26.
Remove your jewellery from the jewelry holder, and use a small knife to cut the gold.
Cut an extra 1/2-inch away from the tip of the piece you just cut.
Put the piece of jewelry back into the jewelry Holder.
27.
Use your fingernails to remove the jewellery ring and set the jewelry aside.
28.
Use scissors or a hairpin to gently peel the gold from the gold jewelry ring.
The gold should now look like this.
29.
Using an airbrush, lightly wipe off the excess gold with a clean, soft cloth.
30.
Set the jewelry and ring aside.
The jewelry will take about 30 minutes to completely set.
31.
After the jewelry is set, attach your ring and necklace.
If the ring has a hole, it is best to remove it.
Remove any excess gold that is clinging to the ring or the necklace before you begin.
32.
To help with the process, it helps to gently bend the rings when they are inserted in the clasp, so that the metal is evenly distributed.
33.
When you are finished, you should have a ring that looks something like the picture above.
34. Place an
