The biggest lottery jackpot in history was handed out at a televised press conference in California on Sunday, but the winner of that jackpot won’t necessarily be happy with the outcome.
The California Lottery announced that the winner will receive an additional $10,000.
That’s because the winning ticket will be used in the next phase of the lottery.
In other words, you can’t play the lottery again.
The winner of the $100 million jackpot will receive $10M.
That will put them on track to win $5 billion.
The jackpot is worth $10.8 billion.
The total value of all tickets sold in the state of California is $11.4 billion.
California has one of the largest lottery winners in the country, with the last winner in 2006 receiving a total of $1.5 billion in jackpots.
