Golden Gate bridge will get an Persona 4 golden version.
A new Persona 4 game, Persona 4: Golden, will get its own spinoff, Persona 5, in Japan, Atlus president Yosuke Matsuda said in a video interview with the Associated Press.
Matsuda confirmed the announcement via Twitter on Monday.
Persona 5 will be available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC in North America on March 5, but it will launch in Japan on March 7.
The game will also get a new, highly detailed version for PlayStation Vita, PlayStation 4 Pro, and PC.
The new Persona 5 art will be released for the first time in the west, too.
Matsudas comments came on the heels of a teaser trailer for Persona 5.
“Persona 5 will have a world that looks just like the real world, with its familiar landmarks and streets and characters,” Matsuda told the AP.
“There will be familiar landmarks, such as the Golden Gate.
And there will be people from across the world who will come to visit.
There will be many things we’re proud of.”
A Persona 5 teaser trailer from last summer revealed the game will be “big, beautiful, and very colorful.”
A new trailer for the game in September showcased a city that resembles New York City.
“In Persona 5’s world, there will also be many new places, such the Statue of Liberty, Tokyo Tower, and other landmarks that will bring an interesting twist to the game,” Atlus said at the time.
“The player will also have the opportunity to explore the real-world locations that have been recreated from Persona 5 as they progress through the story.”
Persona 5 is scheduled for release on March 15 in Japan and March 22 in the United States.
Persona 4’s release date was announced in October 2018.
